The planner and the calendar

Adding to the planner’s pages, and your iPhone’s calendar.

The planner, in the Daybook tab, has a page for every day, week, month and year. They’re already there, so you never have to make one. The planner comes with a subscription, and the calendar is free.

To add an event, tap a half-hour row on a day page and type. You can drag its bottom edge to change when it ends. There’s a handle between the schedule and the notes that you can drag to give the notes more room, and pulling down the handle under the week shows the whole month. Swipe sideways to move between days, or use the ← and → keys on the web. On the calendar, the week numbers down the left side open each week.

On an iPad you can write with Apple Pencil on planner and notebook pages, and search finds a page by its handwriting.

Your iPhone’s calendar

Every event you make in Maitland is also copied to your iPhone’s Calendar app, so alerts you set there work as usual. Settings → Calendar → EVENTS GO TO lets you choose which calendar.

If you turn on THE PHONE’S CALENDAR in the same place, your iPhone’s events show up faintly in your day. Maitland shows them but never copies them. Google and Outlook calendars come through the iPhone’s Calendar app. The web app doesn’t read or write any calendar.
